“I believe Minus 9 to 5 plays a critical role in intervening early to support families by ensuring their children enter school ready to learn. One of the ways this can be accomplished is through partnerships with other organizations so that families have easier access to the resources they need. For example, events offering training to families could be designed as one-stop shop opportunities with lots of community organizations under one umbrella providing a wide range of resources (e.g. wellness exams, food and toiletries, school supplies, professional clothing closet, education and job skills information etc.). Events like this are practical and efficient opportunities to connect families to many meaningful resources at the same time.”
