Namona Griffin

Namona Griffin, MSOM, affectionately known as Mona, is the Family Engagement Assistant for Minus 9 to 5. She believes her calling is to work with families with young children, working in tandem with them to help their children thrive. She began her career working with at- risk youth, as a middle school teacher in the Charlotte Mecklenburg School System. She also worked as a Parent Educator; ensuring babies meet developmental milestones, with Healthy Families Charlotte.  Before landing at EVMS, Minus 9 to 5, Mona worked at the Department of Human Services in Chesapeake, serving unstable-housing and foster care populations. Mona graduated from Western Kentucky University with an undergraduate degree in English Language with a concentration in Journalism and Secondary Education. She has a Master’s in Organizational Management from Pfeiffer University in Charlotte, North Carolina. Mona can be reached at 757-446-7433

In her spare time, Mona loves to read, travel and visit wineries.  She is from Louisville, Kentucky. She is married and has one son, named London.
